Volunteering for the House of Ruth Los Angeles

Jonathan “Jon” David is the CEO of Tapstone Holdings, LLC, where he has launched over 100 successful advertising campaigns since 2013. Aside from work, Jonathan David supports the efforts of the House of Ruth Los Angeles, a nonprofit organization whose aim is to assist families and individuals dealing with domestic violence.

One of the many ways to help the House of Ruth is to volunteer for the charity. Those who volunteer for the House of Ruth must first complete a state-mandated 40-hour training course on working with individuals who have experienced domestic violence. The training is crucial, as it helps volunteers complete their wide variety of tasks within the organization. Volunteers often answer calls for the group’s 24-hour hotline, accompany clients to court, assist in child care, help clients who need temporary restraining orders, and more.

If none of these roles sounds like a good fit, the organization offers a number of alternative ways to contribute. Aside from donating, other ways to help include sponsoring your own fundraising drive, holding a garage or bake sale to raise funds, or volunteering your professional expertise at the organization’s office or one of their board committees.
